Expression of Interest - Waste Facility Attendants (Casuals)

WASTE FACILITY ATTENDANT (CASUAL POSITIONS)

Casual positions are sometimes available at Council.

If you are interested in being considered for casual work within Waste Facilities, please lodge an expression of interest and attach your resume.

Your expression of interest will be placed on file for up to six months. If during this time a position becomes available that matches your skills and experience and Council's operational needs, we will be in touch further.

This type of role may be required to:

  • Undertake all duties relevant to the Council's Waste Facilities operations and maintenance activities.
  • Correctly identify waste including dangerous and hazardous substances to ensure correct handling, storage and/or disposal.
  • Provide direction to contractors, business representatives and members of the public visiting shire waste facilities to ensure waste is segregated and placed in the correct location for recycling or disposal.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service to contractors, business representatives and members of the public visiting shire waste facilities.
  • Respond to waste emergency situations appropriately and effectively to protect people, assets and the environment.
  • Undertake inspections and complete required maintenance of site fences, equipment and plant to the standard required and follow Council procedures to arrange any major repairs required.
  • Place and compact waste on the operational waste cell in accordance with Council procedures and EPA licence requirements.
  • Actively collect windblown litter on approaches to the Waste Facilities and across the site to protect the surrounding environment and improve the visual aesthetics of the site.
  • Collect fees and charges in accordance with Council’s policy and prepare receipts and invoices as required.
